Path to Success, a London based charity, are helping raise funds for the London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club by hosting a Wheelchair Basketball Team Building Day at the Copper Box in the Olympic Park on Tuesday 16th May.
Th event follows the success of ‘the 2016 Wheelchair Basketball Team Building Day’ which raised £25,000.
Money raised will go towards funding the Path to 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, for aspiring Team GB Wheelchair Basketball Paralympians.
The event has considerable celebrity backing including from BBC Presenter and ex-Team GB Paralympian Ade Adepitan MBE (a former London Titans captain), and from Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE, multiple Paralympic Gold medallist, media personality and a Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords.
Among the London Titans players who will be at the event are Gaz Choudhry and Simon Brown who were part of the GB men’s team who won bronze at the Rio 2016 Paralympics and Helen Turner, London Titan’s top GB women’s player.
The event is a company team building day where able bodies will be playing wheelchair basketball raising funds for London Titans wheelchair basketball club and athletes aiming to go to Tokyo 2020.
The participants will be coached by elite basketball players and GB Paralympians.
