The VI Tennis Advisory Group, in partnership with the Tennis Foundation have announced they will be holding the first National Visually Impaired Tennis Awards.
The awards will be held in conjunction with the National Visually Impaired Tennis Championships from 1-2P.M on Saturday 24th October at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
The ceremony aims to celebrate and promote the positive impact that VI Tennis is having on the lives of players, volunteers and coaches across the United Kingdom.
People are invited to submit nominations for the following categories:
Male Personality of the Year: For males who have achieved excellence at a local, regional or national level.
Female Personality of the Year: For females who have achieved excellence at a local, regional or national level.
Coach of the Year: A coach who has made a highly significant contribution to VI Tennis locally, regionally or nationally over the last year.
Volunteer of the Year: An individual, administrator, coach or official who has made a highly significant voluntary contribution to VI Tennis locally, regionally or nationally.
Member of the National VI Tennis advisory committee Fiona Musgrove, said: “I’d just like to say thank you to Wendy Glasper and Rosie Pipers for their hard work.
“We had a short time frame to organise it because we only got the budget at the end of September, so they have worked incredibly hard and thank you to the Tennis Foundation for their support.
“I’d also like to thank Ashleigh Baines who made the video.”

Nominations close at 5pm on Monday 12th October, following which the awards panel will meet to discuss all nominations and decide on the award winners.
